- How important was the music in creating the atmosphere in that scene? It's important because without the music the picture in the scene wouldn't be the same.

With the music & the song
- Sounds like a child's choir.

Without the music
- weird
- spooky
- someone making a doll in a factory

With a happy song
- The beat goes with the picture
- It's like someone making a doll for someone's birthday
- Nothing about it was creepy

Major vs Minor

Dictatorship in Germany

In Social Study, we've been doing a research topic. The topic I chose was the Dictatorship in Germany.

1933, Hitler rose to prominence and became the Chancellor of Germany. He controlled the country with his dictatorship. Before he gained his power, he persuaded the citizens that he was their savior within the bitterness in the country. During the election, the Nazis(also known as the Germany workers) won the majority seats in the parliament. Everyone was under his orders, if anyone is caught against him, he will threaten or execute them.
By 1934, he declared himself as their new Führer when President Von Hindenburg died. He would focus on setting World War II, taking over the world.

What am I learning? the important settings in the film
How does this show my learning? By completing the poster.
What am I wondering? Is every setting important in the movie?

What do I remember?

What do I remember from the film?
Coraline just moved to a new house with her parents. As she explored around the house, she found a secret door in their living room. She was very curious about it so she told her mum to open it. Behind the door, was full of bricks. One day, she decided to go on it but, she noticed that it had a tunnel. When she got on the other side, she looked up realizing she was still in their living room. She went into the kitchen and found her other parents with buttons eyes and they wanted her to become one of them.

Film Study ll Camera Techniques

LO: Define and use the language film.

What am I learning: Different types of Camera Techniques.
How does this work show my learning: By explaining each one of them.
What am I wondering as a result of this learning: Which camera shot/angle/movement is mainly used in films?

What are the characteristics you believe that a dictator mostly has?

LO: To find out about different forms of Government and understand how governments differ from each other.

Paragraph
Statement - I think that the characteristics a dictator mostly has are selfish,
mean, power-hungry, strong, aggressive, rude, strict, and frightening.

Explanation- A dictator is someone who has absolute power over people which means they can control
people’s lives. There are 49 of them today, 21 in Africa, 18 in Asia, 7 in Middle East, 1 in Europe and 2 in
Americas.

Example - An example of a dictator, is Adolf Hitler. He started initiated World War II and killed millions
of Jews. He was also the leader of the Nazi Party. He rose to power as Chancellor of Germany
in 1933 - 1944.

Link - Therefore, this is why the dictators have characteristics.

Math ll Learning Task

In maths, we've been learning about lots of things.

Big Numbers
We are trying to find out some large numbers in the world.
How many people are in the world?
Currently, there are 7,703, 977,985 and it's adding more >7.7 x 10<9
How many galaxies are there?
We found out that there are approximately 100 billion galaxies are in the universe, but it's more likely to increase about to 20 billion (200 billion = 2 x 10>9) (100 billion = 10<9)
How many liters of water in the sea?
So far it's about 1.26 x 10<21= 1,260,000,000,000,000,000,000 litres of water in the sea.

Metrix Prefix
What is Metrix Prefix? metric prefix is a unit prefix that precedes a basic unit of measure to indicate a multiple or fraction of the unit.
Deca- 10 = 10<1
Hecto- 10x10 = 10<3
Kilo- 10x10x10 = 10<6
Mega- 10x10x10x10 = 10<9
Giga- 10x10x10x10x10 = 10<12
Tera- 10x10x10x10x10x10 = 10<15
Peta- 10x10x10x10x10x10x10 = 10<18
Exa- 10x10x10x10x10x10x10x10 = 10<21
Zetta- 10x10x10x10x10x10x10x10x10 = 10<24
Yotta- 10x10x10x10x10x10x10x10x10x10 = 10<27

Rounding Decimals
D.P - Decimal Places
S.F - Significant Figures
When you round up decimals, you can only do it if the second decimal is more than 5.

Converting Numbers
Instead of using heaps of zero in a number, you could use an exponent to make it easier.

Laws of Indices
1) When we multiply two numbers with the same base the indices are added.
2) When we divide two numbers with the same base the indices are subtracted.
3) When we multiply a power in a bracket, by another power outside the bracket.

In groups, we have to choose a planet to calculate how many days/years to get there from earth to (your chosen planets). To get there, we have to use an Airbus A380. My group chose Mercury and this is our calculation:

 Some facts

This is the whole presentation from my class

Percentages between each planet.

Commentary:
To calculate the percentages in between each planet. We first have to add all the distances together to get the whole. Then, we divide each distance by the total(whole). Next, we multiply the decimal by 100 and we round it up and turn it to percentage.

Example: Mercury - Venus
50.2 x 10<6 divided by 4,424,400,000 = 0.01134617123
0.01134617123 x 100 = 1.1
Percentages - 1%

Film Study ll Visual & Sound Techniques

Language of film dictionary
LO: Define and use the language of film

What am I learning: I'm learning to understand the Visual & Sound Techniques
How does this show my learning: By completing this task to show the definition for each word.
What am I wondering as a result of this learning: Does every movie have all these 'techniques'?
