Stencil Art

In Arts, we have been working on our stencil painting for the past few weeks. For my stencil, I chose a hibiscus flower. I decided to replicate it many times with three different colours and I overlapped some of it as well. I used a sponge to dab the paint on the stencil. My painting is about the repetition of the stencil with its 3 different colours. However, the stencil itself doesn't represent or mean anything to me. I just chose it because I like flowers.

  1. Kia Ora Faith, This is a beautiful Hibiscus pattern stencil painting. The three colours, relate well to the ground colour and create some spatial separation too. That is the darkest hibiscus flower sinks into the background more than the pink or lightest white hibiscus flowers. So they appear to "float" in different positions in the picture space. Do you think that the hibiscus might mean something to other viewers?
