Workshop 1 - How does music enhance the story?

How does Music enhance the story?
- Choose a moment from the film where the music, or a particular song, was important. Introduction
- What was happening in that scene? someone re-making a doll
- How would you describe the mood of the music? Kids singing, Creepy, Mysterious, Minor key,
- How important was the music in creating the atmosphere in that scene? It's important because without the music the picture in the scene wouldn't be the same.

With the music & the song
- Sounds like a child's choir.
- peaceful
- the loudness changes
- sounds like a lullaby
- whispering

Without the music
- weird
- spooky
- someone making a doll in a factory

With a happy song
- The beat goes with the picture
- It's like someone making a doll for someone's birthday
- Nothing about it was creepy

Major vs Minor
Major = sounds happy, uplifted
Minor = sounds sad, miserable

Soundtrack
- Mystery
- major and minor key
- creaky noises
- humming bird
- ghost
- minor key
- creepy

Soundtrack 2
