Chapter 30 - Amari
Chaos.
Before this moment, I never truly understood the word. Chaos meant
Mother’s screams before a luncheon. It meant the scramble of oloyes to their
gold-lined chairs.
Now chaos surrounds me, pulsing through every breath and heartbeat. It sings
as blood splatters through the air, snickers with delight as boats explode into
oblivion.

A message I take from this scene is that chaos can mean different from everybody or can be different from what you experienced in life. In this scene, Amari never understood the word 'chaos' since she's always in the palace. The chaos she knows is her mother screaming before a luncheon. She realised that there's a big difference in chaos from what she experience now between her old life.
